Question about height measurements
#1
Would standing beside a mirror with a measuring tape be more accurate than measuring your height on walls? I held a measuring tape while looking at the mirror and I was below 174 cm but over 173 cm (173.2-173.4). However, in different locations in my house, my measurements vary from 172-172.7 cm.

Of course not. How can eyeballing be as accurate (nevermind more accurate) as an actual measurement? Only way to find out your exact height is to measure your height on a wall or use a stadiometer, several hours after waking up.

No you can never get a correct measurement by holding a measuring tape next to you. Mark your height on a wall and then measure it, or better yet have someone else mark your height on a wall.

No, the only methods which work  are to mark your height and measure it, have someone else mark you, or use a stadiometer.

I think you can get a decent enough measurement with both methods. If you measure on the wall, you might measure taller or shorter because the floor you're standing on might not be completely level. Holding a measuring tape beside you while looking in the mirror can be difficult at times since you tend to bend the tape while holding it beside you.

I do the measuring with a cyllindrical object method.
