Can people distinguish the difference between 5'8" and 5'8.5"?

Even though it's just a half inch, do people see a flat 5'8" and an over 5'8" differently? I'm asking this question as a 5'8.5" man because I used to be 5'8" but now that i'm a half inch taller I don't feel below average at all.

No way, not unless they're close to those heights themselves.

These troll posts crack me up. Why would people see 5'8" and 5'8.5" differently but not 5'10" and 5'10.5", 6'1" and 6'1.5" or whatever? What's so special about the half an inch between 5'8" and 5'8.5"? And yes I'm sure you don't feel below average now. After all half an inch is such a HUGE difference!  Rolleyes

I'd ask you to join and reply, but I have a feeling you're already a member here Wink

The average man probably won't even notice 1 inch much less 1/2, unless he's very close to your height.

Everyone's here is assuming that he's American even though he didn't say where he lives. Maybe he lives somehwere where the avarege man is around 5'8".
