At 5'9" you're taller than 46.61% of the American population, but at 5'11" You're taller than 73.41%. Huge difference!

5'7-5'9 is definitely the most significant for me since I'm 5'7" and the average in Italy is in that range. 2 inches between 5'7" and 6 feet are very significant because most European and American men are in that range. And even outside of it it's a big difference. Your average pair of shoes add only 1/2-3/4 of an inch.
